Hi everyone!

Thanks for coming to my page.  My name is Cassie Owens and I'm a mom, entrepreneur, work out enthusiast, and a psychotherapist with a specialty in  maternal mental health.  I also sit as Vice President on the board of the GA chapter of Postpartum Support International.  I am excited to be leading team Dunwoody!

The Climb Out of the Darkness®  is the world's largest event raising awareness of maternal mental health illnesses. Teams everywhere will join together to shed light on mental health issues related to childbearing and to honor women and families.  In Dunwoody,  we will walk around a paved path that symbolizes climbing out of the darkness, as many women do after their struggle with postpartum depression and/or anxiety.  

1 in 7 women will experience either anxiety and/or depression during pregnancy and/or postpartum.  However, only 10 percent of these women suffering reach out for help, so we want and need to do more, to help connect more women and families to resources.

100% of funds raised by our team (minus CauseVox's admin fees) will go directly to our PSI GA Chapter that will enable us to create  and fund programs for mothers and families in our local communities.  Our mission in GA is to promote awareness, treatment and prevention of mental health issues related to childbearing.  We want every woman and family to have knowledge and access to resources.
