The Climb Out of the Darkness is committed to bring people together, united, to honor the struggle to overcome PMADs.  We promote awareness, prevention and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide. We support moms & dads, community programs and healthcare providers.

Jaime Filler and Andreka Peat, two Decatur area therapists, are excited to be teaming up to lead "Team Decatur-Georgia." Jaime and Andreka are both passionate about supporting women and their families during the perinatal period and will will be participating in The Climb out of the Darkness for the first time this year. Team Decatur-Georgia hopes to raise $3000 to help support their PSI GA Chapter to create and fund programs for mothers and families in Georgia.

Help team Decatur-Georgia fight stigma and raise awareness for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) by donating or joining Team Decatur today!

By leading a Climb this year we hope to shed light on the fact that postpartum depression is the #1 complication of childbirth, and that 1 in 7 mothers will suffer with a PMAD. We are also looking forward to raising funds so our PSI-GA chapter can continue to make an impact in the lives of the families who do desperately need it. 100% of what our team raises (minus CauseVox’s administrative fee), will go directly to our state chapter. To find out more information about what the PSI GA Chapter has to offer and where your funds will go, please visit: www.psiga.org.

Please consider joining our team (or making a donation) for this event on Saturday, June 23rd at 9:30 at Mason Mill Park in Decatur, GA.

We will walk around the paved walking path, so strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. There will be several prize giveaways for moms, dads, kids, and friends, as well as some fun activities for the kids.
