1 in 5 moms will suffer from a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder like postpartum anxiety/depression. Only 15% of the moms who suffer will get the help they need. Please help us raise awareness and break down the stigma associated with these very common,  yet treatable disorders.

Please Join us on June 23, 2018 at Comlara Park as we "Climb Out of the Darkness" together. Check in will begin at 9:30am. Hike begins at 10am. We will walk a wide, mowed path that is a little over a mile. There is a place to turn around for those who wish to walk a shorter distance. Strollers with larger wheels and jogging strollers are fine for this trail. Umbrella strollers are not ideal. Participants are encouraged to pack a sack lunch and stick around for a picnic afterwards. Please contact Nicki or Gina at [email protected] with questions.

The Climb Out of the Darkness is committed to bring people together, united, to honor the struggle to overcome PMADs.  We promote awareness, prevention and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide. We support moms & dads, community programs and healthcare providers.

This year, Bloomington/Normal's brand new perinatal mood and anxiety disorder support group, "Surviving To Thriving" will receive 75% of funds raised. This will help with monthly expenses of printing costs of resource and educational materials, community outreach, and hopefully community events in the future.
