I said I was great. I said I didn't need help. I didn't know why I was feeling the way I was but surely this was normal, right? Until I realized it wasn't. And I finally asked for help. And when I got the guts to ask for help, I was told I couldn't be helped. Second, third, fourth opinions... "you're breastfeeding, we can't help you." "This is an OB office, we don't really deal with things like that." I was crying for help. LITERALLY. And finally, finally - I had hope. That's all I needed. HOPE.  It should never be a battle to get help when you need it.

Each year, PSI hosts a fundraiser walk/hike in cities all over the world called Climb Out of the Darkness®.

Climb Out of the Darkness® is the world’s largest event raising awareness of perinatal mental illness. The event is held every year on or near the summer solstice (the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere). Teams and their supporters gather to “climb out of the darkness” by walking, climbing, or hiking together to help shine the most light on perinatal mental illness and to raise funds to support the fight against PMADs.

This year I have volunteered to coordinate the event for Camdenton, Missouri on June 23, 2018 at Camdenton City Park, 10 am.

Join me & the rest of the healing warriors as we climb out of the darkness and raise awareness about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders! Your help & support matters & is very much appreciated.
