Donate. The Climb Out of the Darkness is a community walk and international fundraiser for survivors, providers, and members of the community to come together. Raising awareness for Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), The Climb brings communities together all over the globe on the solstice (the longest, brightest day) to shine a light on a darkness we often don't speak about. We share stories of hope and celebrate recovery as we gather together to raise money, raise awareness and give a voice to those who no longer have one.

My name is Jeremy Hornberger, I am a mom of an insanely active and amazing girl named Ella Ray - she will be 2 in June. Less than 24 hours after I returned home from giving birth, I found myself back in the ER. I was diagnosed with Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety. Where I am now, I never thought possible. I experienced a darkness that can't be explained unless you've been there. Through medication, therapy, an amazing support system, and an inner strength I didn't know I possessed, I made it into the light. I hope you can join me and this amazing organization in our climb to end the stigma, raise awareness, and provide the best care we can for those struggling with PMAD's.

I am organizing the Team Baltimore walk for the 2018 Climb Out of the Darkness International event. We will be walking together on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Meadowood Regional Park from 10am - 1pm to support each other, raise awareness in our community, and raise funds for Postpartum Support International.  Postpartum Support International provides direct peer support to families, training for professionals, and a bridge to connect them.

The Climb is open to EVERYONE - those who have suffered as well as their friends, family, therapists, doctors, nurses, supporters - please join Team Baltimore - and encourage your support system to do so as well. If you are unable to attend in person, there is always the couch climber option. Help us by donating and sharing the team page to help us spread the word! Every donation and share matters!

If you have any questions, need assistance with registering, or want to help with this event, please email me at: bmoreclimbout@gmail.com. You can also join our Facebook group for updates, support, and a safe space to interact with fellow PMAD moms, dads, friends, and family: COTD 2018: Team Baltimore.
